Misting System Pumps
The Atacama Standard series pump has a typical motor starter control scheme at full motor speed which sets the maximum operating flow rate at a single output pressure.
The Atacama is our commercial, industrial high-pressure pump line, designed for the most sophisticated, high-volume misting and humidification applications. Named after what’s considered the driest region in the world, the Atacama high-pressure pump is equally impressive and suited to extreme environments. It is offered in flow rates from 5 GPM to 25 gpm (19 to 94 pm).
Ingenuity went into designing a product line suited to such high demand by remaining true to the concepts of maximum efficiency and engineered reliability.
Ingenuity went into designing a product line suited to such high demand while remaining true to the concepts of maximum efficiency and engineered reliability. The optional programmable logic controller (PLC) and variable frequency drive (VFD) adjust the motor speed and output based on pressure or zoning, in essence, managing fog output to defined parameters and operating energy and water efficiently.
Due to the nature of high-volume misting or fog, we’ve added a basic feature set tailored to commercial and industrial use. All Koolfog Atacama high-pressure fog pumps are equipped with a dual high-volume water filtration system to clear water of debris or sediment that can potentially obstruct nozzles. In addition, each Atacama high-pressure misting pump comes equipped with 4 service gauges – two glycerin-filled inlet gauges that monitor both the incoming supply and actual water supply to the pump unit, one discharge gauge monitoring output pressure, and an hour meter to provide hours of use for preventative maintenance scheduling. A regulator/unloader sets discharge pressure to bypass any unused flow, while a pulsation dampener minimizes wear and tear on components. A safety relief valve is also included to prevent over-pressure.
Named after the driest region in the world, the Atacama high-pressure pump is equally impressive and suited to extreme environments. The Atacama Desert is a region of particular interest due to its soil composition which mirrors that of the planet Mars. This area’s dry heat magnitude is evident by the 120,000 years of dry river beds. There have been weather stations located in the Atacama that have never felt a rain drop and there is evidence to suggest that no significant rain fell from 1570-1971. This desert holds the secrets of future research for planetary missions, the secrets of adaptability, and the utter sublimity nature can provide. We named our leader in industrial, commercial and humidification fog applications after these sentiments to offer ingenuity and high quality. We mimic the biological adaptability of the Atacama desert by the adaptability we’ve meticulously engineered into the Atacama high-pressure misting and fog pumps.
